Ondo receives 23 Nigerian Libyan returnees


Ondo State authorities, on Friday, got 23 indigenes of the state, who were among Nigerians repatriated from Libya .

Gov. rotimi Akeredolu, who got the returnees , guaranteed them that his administration would give sufficient help.

The Governor , who was represened by the deputy governor of the state Mr Agboola Ajayi, expressed gratitude toward the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Abike Dabiri for helping the illegal migrants back to Nigeria.

Mr Ajayi said the State Government is putting all works in place to empower and re-integrate the indigenes back into the society.

" We will help them fulfil thier dream, government will set them up in the abilities , which the returnees will do .

" I talked with them on the situations they experienced in Libya, so we can improve the situation for them in the state , " he said .

Gov Akeredolu advise ondo state residents from leaving Nigeria through illegal route, adding that travel agents only take thier money and dump them in the desert.

The gov expressed that he cant force the indigenes to stay in Nigeria, but they should rather find something doing with thier hard earned money, which they are willing to use for thier travel expenses.

The representative, however , guaranteed that his administration will look into how the government will empower the repatriated victims.
