Fire razes rice farm in Bauchi
Rice farm settlement totalling up to 75 hectares in Bauchi Local Government Area of Bauchi State has been burnt down by fire.
The incident, which went on for quite a long time wrecked the rice estate worth millions.
The rice cultivation, situated at Liman, Katagum along Dass Road, was owned by two financial investors a Director of Futlink West Africa Limited, Nasiru Mohammed, and one Auwal Mohammed.
The director of the rice farm, Ahmed Mohammed, affirming the episode said the reason for the fire was as of yet sketchy.
As indicated by him, the fire which went on for over two hours was helped by dry leaves and breezes
He said the fire has pulverized rice under development worth a large number of naira.
"The fire was awful, supported by dry leaves and breeze in the community.
This cultivation has given work to more than 1,000 residents in the state, so we are approaching partners in the state to go to the guide of the financial specialists, who have lost their wellspring of our job.
Meanwhile Community leaders in the state have sympathized with the two financial investors over thier loss, while also calling on state government to come to the aid of the residents who will be idle due to the farm fire incident and the owner of the farm.
