Cattle Colony: You’re not the owner of Kogi, Community leader warns Bello


A Community chief in far North Kogi State , Prince Alhassan Ejike , has cautioned Governor Yahaya Bello not to accept the federal government cattle colonies in the state.

Prince Alhassan expressed this in a session with journalist in Lokoja on Thursday .

The community leader was responding to the governors request to enter into the dairy cattle settlement proposition of the Federal Government as a solution for the rehashed conflicts between the Fulani Herdsmen and farmers .

The prince told yahaya bello that he dosen't own kogi state and must work properly to evade any approaching calamity that will take after such an open welcome to herders .

" Kogi state is not yours and you can't apportion a land that doesn ' t have a place with you to outsiders, " he noted

Prince Al hassan advice bello to tread softly, to avoid any dangerous blood shed in the state between the indigenes and Fulani cattle breeders.

Meanwhile, Nigerian's have criticised president Muhammad Buhari over the recent killings in Benue state, calling for prosecution of the herders in the country.

Furthermore, Nigerian Entertainer and musician paid a condolence visit to Governor of Benue state, over the recent killing of 72 indigenes by Fulani herdsmen in Benue.
