Benue killings: Buhari protecting Fulani herdsmen – Igede people
The igedes in Benue, living in Anambra and delta state have blasted the government of President Muhammadu Buhari for protecting Fulani herders from facing consequences of their actions in Benue state.
The indigens additionally blamed the administration over its absence of intrigue and failure to take drastic actions against the brutal killings of residents by herders.
Leader of the Ominy Igede Anambra/Delta States and former President General of the group Chief Patrick Akobo, in an announcement in Onitsha, announce the most recent brutal killings of more than 73 indigenes in Benue State by the herders as a "As a drum of war."
The leader advised President Muhammadu Buhari to set up a unique Police squad to control the threat of the Fulani herders who have over and again launch attacks and executed en-mass, the general population of Benue in their homes and farm settlement.
"The well known story now is that, Mr President also a fulani is handling the terrorism act with levity hands while also protecting the fulani herdsmen from facing the full wrath of the law.
"Mr president sir, we need you to take over the security challenges facing Benue state with the issue of Fulani herdsmen. It has been a regret that after fighting boko haram to some extent the herders are regrouping to take over, we urge you to stop shielding the criminals and makes them face the full wrath of the law, says Akobo.
