Another batch of Nigerians return from libya


The International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the European Union (EU) on Thursday organized the arrival of 249 more Nigerians from Libya.

Journalist announced that the returnees touched base at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos at around 9.47pm on board an Afriqiyah Airbus A330-300 with Registration Number 5A-ONR.

They were welcomed by the Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Alhaji Mustapha Maihajja.

Maihajja, who was not in attendance but was represented by the South West Zonal Coordinator of NEMA, Alhaji Suleiman Yakubu, begged the returnees to be champions of positive change by supporting the battle against illegal travelling.

He said they ought to have the capacity to advice other Nigerians, young people on the risks of looking or better life outside the nation through illicit means in light of their encounters in Libya.

"You should tell them that you are constantly second natives outside your nation and your rights can be disregarded without open door for you to look for review by any stretch of the imagination," Maihajja said.

No less than 3,000 Nigerians have intentionally come back from Libya through the IOM upheld program in the
most recent couple of months.

Newsmen report that 387 had, on Tuesday, came back from the unstable North African nation where they had been stranded enroute Europe.

Many came back with bloody stories of their encounters in the nation.

As at when this story is been reported, another batch of Nigerians was being evacuated from Libya, as their plane
was said to be headed from Tripoli.
