EPL: Brendan Rodgers speaks on replacing Wenger as Arsenal manager

Celtic coach, Brendan Rodgers, has debunked rumours that he will take over from Arsene Wenger at Arsenal.

Wenger's situation at the Emirates, will be evaluated after this current season, with numerous reports revealing his 22-year spell at the club will come to an end.

Rodgers is one of the numerous names effectively connected with the position.

"The North London club is an incredible club with an extraordinary coach.

Fans will see that when Liverpool was having problems for five seasons and also not playing Champions League football I could get them back.

"When I signed for Celtic, they hadn't been in the Champions League for three seasons and I worked on that and brought them back, so perhaps fans are considering, 'alright, Arsenal have been out of the Champions League and that is possibly the condition for somebody like myself.'

"However, Celtic is a good environment for me at the moment.

I know I won't stay at Celtic forever, but rather I'm living in a fantasy – in spite of the fact that fantasies dependably reach an end sooner or later, that is without a doubt.

Right now my focus is on how to improve the celtic football club, and not going back to England," Rodgers told correspondents on Saturday.

Rodgers worked in the EPL with Swansea City in 2010/2011 and 2011/2012, before signing for Liverpool, where he was sacked in October 2015.

"It's a good club, Arsenal, yet they have an awesome coach.
