- Two Jet involved in collision at Toronto airport

There was a collision between two jets on the ground at a Toronto airport on Friday.
The collision set the tail of one aircraft on fire as passengers were forced to evacuate the other via an emergency slide.

Airlines owners, the WestJet and Sunwing affirmed to the collision between their planes and the time of incidence was recorded at 18:19 local time (2319 GMT) at the Toronto Pearson International.

Report revealed there had been a similar incident at the airport in five months.

The airport authority some hours latter announced that all the WestJet passengers on board the plane had been safely moved to the  terminal except for one of the airport's fire and emergency service personnel who suffered some injury and is at an hospital receiving treatment.

The official statement read; "At this time, airport operations have not been significantly affected by the incident but continue to be challenged by the extreme cold weather conditions."

In an Instagram video posted by one of the passengers on West Jet plane, it showed passengers panicked  with shouts and cries during the incident.
The video showed flames erupting from the tail of the Sunwing aircraft.

The Passenger who captured the video, Stephen_belford  captioned the video; "Our plane was crashed into by another plane right after the pilot announced they were 'low on staff."

Information from WestJet via Twitter disclose the plane, a Boeing 737-800 plane was carrying168 guests and six crew onboard, and had just arrived in Toronto via Cancun.

The tweet read; "Due to the position of the aircraft on the laneway, WestJet guests required evacuation via emergency slide. Emergency crews were on hand and responded immediately."

The air flight company however didn't state if any passengers or crew member were injured.

While the Sunwing via it own social media page said there was no one onboard the plane at the time of the incident.
