- Gov. Ayodele Fayose wins as Court restraint EFCC from meddling into the finances of Ekiti state
Well, according to recent update, Gov. Ayodele Fayose has been exonerated by a Federal High Court in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State as the Court of Law has taken it due course with a judgement that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has no power to investigate the finances of the Ekiti State.
The court in it Judgement said, “in federalism, the Federal Government is not an overseer or supervisor regarding finances of a State.”
However, the court claimed according to the Nigerian constitution only the State House of Assembly can investigate finances of any State,of which Ekiti is one.
The court has thus restraint the anti-graft agency from meddling in the affairs of Ekiti State and to stop investigating or arresting any official of the State Government.
In other news, Ayodele Fayose has informed all cattle rearers or herdsmen in the state to register with the state Government for easy identification. This is a part of a means to prevent an attack in the state.
