33 Niger Republic citizens found among Libya returnees in Yobe
Niger republic citizens counting up to Thirty-three have been found among the 216 illegal migrants repatriated from Libya in Yobe State on Saturday, January 20.
Ahmed Mustapha, briefed newsmen while sorting the returnees to their different Local Government Areas, that 33 of the migrants were non natives while some others were from Borno State.
"After proper scrutiny we found that 33 were Niger Republic citizens, and we are giving them over to the Nigeria Immigration Service who will likewise guarantee that they will return them to their nation," he said.
Adamu Abdulfatai, the state leader of imigration, said after discovering the 33 outsiders,due process will be taken on how to hand them over to the immigration department in Niger Republic.
"We will be proficient in connecting up with the experts of Niger Republic to guarantee that they rejoin with their families," Abdulfatai said.
Large amount of Nigerians have been repatriated back to Nigeria, after news report revealed other African citizens are are sold in Libya for slaves.
The leading state with large part of illegal migrants repatriated back to Nigeria is edo state.
Meanwhile, governor obaseki have promised the victims of empowerment, with substantial amount of money to set up a business.
