Previous Vice - President Atiku Abubakar has confirmed that President Muhammadu Buhari was banished from the United States for a long time because of his religious perspectives.
Atiku was cited as saying this amid a meeting with Dele Momodu, which was a piece of his week by week section titled "Pendulum published in The Boss Magazine".
Buhari had, at a course sorted out by the Supreme Council for Sharia in Nigeria in August 2001, said, God willing, we will not stop the agitation for the total implementation of the Sharia in the country. I will continue to show openly and inside me, the total commitment to the Sharia movement that is sweeping all over Nigeria.
Atiku , who was one of the outstanding voices that restricted Buhari at the time , said Buhari was really banned from setting out to the US for a long time because of his position on the Sharia issue.
The previous vice- president was reacting to an inquiry on why he himself abstained from making a trip to the US.
Atiku expressed, It is the sole right of America to figure out who they need in their nation or not. I'm not fleeing from America. I applied yet wasn't issued a visa.
However, they didn't ban me completely.
They've just said my application is experiencing a managerial procedure . This isn't curious to me . For around 15 years , Buhari couldn't enter America by virtue of religious contemplations.
