Nigerian troops repel Boko Haram in Borno, kill 3 insurgents


The Terrorists group struggled to assault Gajibo town in Borno state

- The troops allegedly executed three of the extremists, while some of their weapons were recovered

Troops of the Nigerian armed force effectively gone up against some Boko Haram Terrorists group at Gajibo town in Dikwa Local Government Area of Borno state killing three of the fear based oppressors, Onyema Nwachukwu, the representative chief, army public relations, Theater Command of the Operation Lafiya Dole, said in Maiduguri on Saturday, December 2.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Nwachukwu, a colonel, said the troops killed the three radicals when a gathering of boko haram endeavored to assault Gajibo people group on Thursday.

He additionally uncovered that terrorist who launched  the attack on the town in a Military Personnel Carrier and firearm trucks, were repulsed by the troops.

The statement read: “Troops of the 22 brigade deployed in Operation Lafiya Dole on Thursday (November 30) evening killed three Boko Haram insurgents in an
encounter that ensued when a group of insurgents attempted an attack on Gajibo community in the fringes of Dikwa Local Government Area of Borno state.

“The insurgents armed with Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) and gun trucks met with fierce resistance from the troops, who successfully defended Gajibo village after
routing the insurgents.

Troops also recovered three AK 47 rifles from the insurgents.

“Currently, troops are further exploiting the success of the counter offensive and are still in pursuit of the insurgents.”
