UK blamed Northern Nigerian leaders for Education backwardness in the region

The United Kingdom's Department for International Development (DFID), Wednesday faulted northern pioneers for their absence of sense of duty regarding the improvement of essential instruction in the locale.

Dr. Mikhail Ibrahim, the Project Coordinator of Reading and Numeracy Activity (RANA) which is an engraving of DFID, made this known at a reading/speaking celebration sorted out for grade school understudies on speaking and numeracy exercises in Gusau, Zamfara State.

He stated: "because of the absence of duty of northern pioneers and support for essential instruction, the area has remained in reverse in instruction and this stances challenges for its advancement.

"It is in perspective of the need to review the terrible pattern that RANA started a three-year program for utilizing the first language as the dialect of direction in Primary 1-3 in Zamfara and Katsina States."

As per Ibrahim, "the speaking/reading celebration was intended for open grade schools with the objective of enhancing proficiency and numeracy results for students, particularly young ladies by
