- Spain refuses to recognise Catalan Independence
In the fight for Independence by Catalan from Spain,  the football world is also about to be affected.
Manager and Coach of Manchester City which happens to be the number one club on the English Premiere League table, Pep Guardiola, has been fingered in a police report investigating Catalan independence.
According to reports, the police report will be passed to the investigating Supreme Court judge, Pablo Llaren.
Some Activists liks Jordi Sanchez and Jordi Cuixart have already been arrested and sent to jail following the October’s referendum which was deemed illegal by Spain’s government.
They are being tag as rebels and being investigated for alleged ‘rebellion’.
It is no hidden fact that Pep Guardiola is a known supporter of the campaign for Catalonia to become an independent state away from Spain and that he also attended a pro-independence rally in Barcelona in the summer with the president of the Catalan government, Carles Puigdemont, along with tens of thousands of demonstrators.
Pep had told the mass crowd that he would be voting for independence on October 1 “even if the Spanish state doesn’t want it”.
However, the votes was not recognised by Madrid and the Spanish Government has resulted to launching investigations into high-profile figures who attempted to influence public opinion via the police.
This means the Manchester City coach could get arrested any time from now.
