Ogun State Nigerian Custom service Command has said that it had seized 500 illegal process tokunbo autos and 1,305 sacks of 50kg rice supposedly brought into Nigeria illegally.
Head of Ogun State Area Command, Sani Madugu stated this at the Idiroko outskirt, while talking to newsmen about the exercises of the operation.
Sani explained that inside the most recent one week, the force made seizures of four carried tokunbo autos, 1,305 packs of 50kg rice ,117 barrels of vegetable oil, 20 packs of sugar, 10 sacks of utilized garments and 12 bikes with obligation payable estimation of N39.3m
Sani stated that his unit has generated N5.717 billion income amongst January and November 2017, including that inside
the months under survey.
On giving the breakdown of the income created in 11 months, Madugu said it was acknowledged from extract obligation,
import obligation, charges and sale.
He clarified that 777 seizures were made inside the period under audit, including that the force has expanded the beat of its against pirating exercises.
Sani said the illegal smugglers in the state were having it hot, as more agents had been sent to the state.
He stated, "more agents have been presented on the force, so there is no breathing space for the criminals in
Ogun State.
" The criminals must acknowledge we will keep on making seizure of rice being snuck through the land outskirts.
"Amid Christmas season, the force will be on alert, we have enough work force. Our stockrooms are overflowing with sacks of seized rice. We will keep on seizing those snuck packs of rice."
