According to latest report, some
heavily armed operatives of the Nigerian Anti-grafts body, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Today storm the home of Chairman/Managing Director of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM), Chief Innocent Chukwuma in Enugu and got him arrested.
The operatives of the anti-graft agency including some armed policemen stormed the residence of the IVM owner located at Savage Crescent, GRA, Enugu as early as 7:30am after Chief Innocent haf refused earlier invitations.
On getting to his home the operatives of the EFCC met some initial resistance by some thugs who pretended to be the Chief's workers.
The anti- graft body had to result to firing of teargas via the policemen that accompanied the EFCC men before they could gain entry.
During the melee that ensured, the EFCC cordoned off all the exit routes from the residence and ended up creating gridlocks as people who were involved in early morning activities experience delays.
However, the operatives succeeded in gaining access to the building and overpowered Chukwuma’s men before they finally arrested him.
The reason for the arrest of Chief Innocent is as a result of the disagreement between his firm and GTB since 2012 as he accuse the bank of being indebted to his company through illegal service deductions.
