- Arsene Wenger applauds Mesut Ozil over the club's win against Newcastle
- He says the game Arsenal won would boost the team confidence which is needed for Christmas season
English club, Arsenal Football Club:s Manager, Arsene Wenger is elated over the 1-0 win Arsenal F.C had over Newcastle.
Wenger believes the win will breed a new level of confidence needed by the club to cope with a hectic Christmas schedule.
Arsenal was able to hold Newcastle to a point after a winless run thanks to Mesut Ozil’s spectacular first-half goal at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday. Gunners manager, Wenger has no worries about a potential lack of stamina and said the club played hard having played on Sunday, Wednesday and on Saturday.
He said; “You could see that we had played three games in six days and the third game is a bit more difficult physically."
Aside the game, Ozil present form  had Wenger purring in admiration and has made him more desperate to keep the player and make sure that the Germany international does not leave the club come January or at the end of the season when his contract expires.
Wenger went on to applaud Ozil as he described him as a risk taker and a player who is 99 per cent all the time both in his position and the way he controls the ball and gives it to somebody else. He also praise the player for taking the gamble at the right time.
