- He wants wages payment to be same as players of his status
Nigerian Super Eagles striker cum English club, Arsenal player, Alex Iwobi is requesting an improved wage bill payment as he is set to pave ways for a new contract talks with Arsenal management.
The main reason why 21 year old Iwobi wants s new contract is because he is being paid less compared to other players of his status.
According to his contract with Arsenal, Iwobi, still has three more years left of his £30,000 per week for five years current deal but the player is insisting on an increase in wage so as to be on the same level with other players of same status at the North London side.
Arsenal FC is interested in extending  the young Nigerian international’s contract before the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, with the look of things the club’s top management are keen on rewarding the attacker for his achievement with Arsenal main team this season with a new contract.
Reports have made football fans believe Arsenal and Iwobi’s representatives are already in talk but it is still a long way to go before a new long-term deal can be struck.
Alex Iwobi who is a product of Emirates academy seek financial parity with other players of similar status at the club ever since he made it to the first eleven team of Arsenal.
Alex Iwobi made his first breakthrough in 2015 and made 21 appearances scoring two goals and by the end of the season made his full international first game for Nigeria.
Currently, Iwobi has made 15 appearances for Arsenal this season and help Super Eagles in it outstanding win against Argentina in Russia last month.
