Six killed, 12 missing in Kebbi boat mishap
Not less than, six traders lost their lives while 12 people are as yet missing after a boat capsized on Wednesday in River Niger in Shanga Local Government Area of the state.
It was assembled that the accident happened following a head-on impact of two boats conveying trader's and their products on Tuesday at around 8:30 p.m. in Barikin Sakace in Shanga Local Government Area.
The media representative Secretary to the Kebbi State Governor, Abubakar Dakingari, affirmed the occurrence to newsmen in the state on Wednesday.
"Two local boats were conveying more than 78 travelers, six people have been affirmed dead while 12 are as yet not found and more than 60 were saved.
"Atiku Bagudu The Governor of Kebbi State, has coordinated the customary rulers, neighborhood government executives, Nigerian Inland Waterways' authorities and Marine Police to stop night journey by vessels and boats." He said.
Furthermore, Bagudu have sent representatives to the victims families involved in the misshap and ordered for the release of their corp for burial arrangement.
