Mother of two jailed for trafficking


A court in Lagos State has condemned Miracle Ita, to two years 'detainment for the trafficking of a young lady to function as a business sex laborer in the Ajah region of the state.

The federal high court said the convict will also pay a fine of N250,000.

Our reporter was Informed that the woman Ita was charged by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons after she was captured at one guest house in the Ajah region of Lagos, where the casualty was being misused.

As indicated by a press release on Wednesday by the NAPTIP Head of Press and Public Relations, Josiah Emerole, Ita was prosecuted on February 24, 2016.

In any case, in a judgment conveyed on Tuesday the judge, Justice Chuka Obiozor, found her guilty of the case and condemned her to two years detainment with an extra fine of N250, 000.

Emerole stated, " Ita was an expert sex specialist at the lodging. She was grabbed by the organization on July 15, 2016 at Okon Brothel, Ajah, Lagos State, where she was harrasing the young girl.

When the woman was charged on February 24, 2016, she argued not guilty to the case of trafficking any girl.

" Upon that request, trial working on this issue, with charge number, FHC/L/57 C/2016 , initiated on May 12, 2016.
