Ethiopia Government orders state of emergency rule nationwide
African country, Ethiopia which is the continent Second most populous country after Nigeria has been on the world map since yesterday following the unexpected resignation of the country's Prime Minister, Desalegn Hailemariam for peace to reign in the country.
A new announcement by the Prime Minister Hailemariam as order a state of emergency in the African country amist ongoing unrest and political crisis.
According to the state own TV station, Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation revealed the main EPRDF coalition’s council had a meeting and arrived at a decision to impose an emergency rule nation wide.
The shocking thing about the announcement was that the date when the emergency rule will lapse was not stated.
Prior to the emergency rule, the prime minister resignation came as a shock as the country had been mared by some waves of strikes and demonstrations calling for the release of more opposition leaders held in detention.
Record show a sum total of 6,000 political prisoners had been freed till January, 2018.
