• Breaking News: FG renames Federal University Ndufu Alike to Alex Ekueme University

The Federal Government has renamed the Federal University Ndufu Alike in honour of late  Alex Ekueme. The University will henceforth be called Alex Ekueme University, Ebonyi.

The latest pronuncement was made by Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo on Friday during a funeral of the Elder statement. Osinbajo during his speech declared Alex Ekueme as rare gem in Nigerian politics.

Family and friends of the late Politician storm his home town at Oko, Anambra State.

Some of the dignitaries at the funeral include Ex President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife, Mrs Patience, Ex Vice President Namadi Sambo among others.

The State Governors who stormed the event include, Willie Obiano of Anambra, Rochas Okorocha of Imo, Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia and Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos.
