- Iran announces the end of the sedition says only 15000 people took part in the protest
The ongoing protest against Iran Government seems to be coming to an end.
According to Iran's Revolutionary Guards on Wednesday, it revealed that the protest that had been on in the middle east country for several days was coming to end. It also disclosed that a maximum of 15,000 people had taken part nationwide.
Mohammad Ali Jafari, commander of the Revolutionary Guards, said; "Today we can announce the end of the sedition."
A post on the 'Gaurd' website revealed a maximum of 1,500 people took part in the protest in each place as the total number of the protesters whom were tagged as trouble-makers did not exceed 15,000 people nationwide.
It further revealed; "A large number of the trouble-makers at the centre of the sedition, who received training from counter-revolutionaries have been arrested and there will be firm action against them."
The Guards which represents a parallel security force is directly loyal to supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and intervened in the provinces of Isfahan, Lorestan and Hamedan.
The Guard also said most of the people who had taken part in the protest via social media were not based in the country as most were base outside the country and trained by the United States, while internal "monarchists" and supporters of the exiled People's Mujahideen opposition group were also involved.
Jafari said since the clamped down on social media by the Iranian Government, the troubles reduced.
