Human trafficking: Nigerian couple ordered to pay enslaved nanny $121,000


Chudy Nsobundu, and his better half Sandra Nsobundu, residing in the United States has been ordered by a U.S court to pay $121,000 as compensation to the Nigerian nanny who served them for 20 hours every day for two years, as the babysitter to their children.

As indicated by the News office of Nigeria, the naturalized U.S. nationals selected the lady from Nigeria with the guarantee of a $100 month to month wage however the babysitter was not paid all through the period.

Government officials said they mishandled her physically and verbally while she worked at their home in the Houston suburb of Katy from September 2013 to October 2015.

Court records expresses that the babysitter worked each day.from 5:30 a.m. to 1 a.m., couldn't take breaks and needed to eat scraps and not new sustenance, including being compelled to just drink drain left in bowls in which the youngsters had eaten grain She likewise couldn't clean up.

It was learnt that Nsobundus kept the babysitter from leaving their work by keeping her international documents however,the lady seeked for help and was
protected after a tip off to the National Human Trafficking Resource Center while Her name has not been revealed.

Both couples confessed to visa scandal and unlawful conduct of forced labour.
