Buhari should be ashamed of himself as Nigeria’s president – Adebanjo

Political activist and a Top member of Yoruba socio-political association,Afenifere, Ayo Adebanjo, has blasted President Muhammadu Buhari for his refusal to act in the continuous slaughtering of Nigerians by Fulani herdsmen criminals.

Ayo Adebanjo said the President ought to be ashamed of himself for being the president of Nigeria, and can't find a long lasting solutions to the crisis.

Talking with journalist, the elder revealed the next presidential election might not be possible with the current security challenges affecting the country.

He stated, "The Fulani herders are causing disarray in a few sections of the nation; Southern Kaduna, Benue, Adamawa, and so forth. What has he done? Is it not a disgrace that the leader of a nation who was a military man before is in a circumstance where there is a breakdown of peace in a few sections of the nation? Buhari ought to be embarrassed about himself as leader of this nation. He ought to be embarrassed about himself."

Inquired as to whether Buhari should recontest after his underperformance, Ayo stated, "if the president can restructure the nation, he can recontest and individuals will choose. I don't have faith in 2019 races if there is no restructuring.

"I think election should be stopped  until the point that the nation is rebuilt. If not, there would be no peace. I know the president won't consider restructuring but god will save us."
