- UN Security Council to meet on Friday over Trump's Recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Isreal

- UN believes Jerusalem’s final status could only be resolved through direct negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians

US Pres., Donald Trump Wednesday made history as he officially recognized the city of Jerusalem as the seat of Power of Isreal despite claim of ownership by Palestine and warnings from world bodies and othee countries.

Trump will be the first US pres. to fulfill this promise as others tactically sideline it owing to the circumstances surrounding the city.

Well, after the declaration by Trump Yesterday, the world has been worried, this made the UN Security Council called an emergency meeting scheduled to hold on Friday, the reason for the meeting will be to discuss the decision taken by US Pres. Donald Trump to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Isreal.

According to reports, the meeting which was requested by eight nations will commence by10:00 am (1500 GMT) in Japan.

The eight countries which requested for a meeting are; Bolivia, Britain, Egypt, France, Italy, Senegal, Sweden and Uruguay.

The UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has also been told to commence the meeting with a remark on the issue.

Guterres said the status of  Jerusalem could only be resolved through direct negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians.

Guterres added that he had “consistently spoken out against any unilateral measures.”
“There is no alternative to the two-state solution.”

Bolivian Ambassador Sacha Sergio Llorenty Soliz called Trump’s move “a reckless and a dangerous decision which goes against international law, the resolutions of the Security Council.”
“It’s a threat not just to the peace process, but also it’s a threat to international peace and security,” said the envoy.

While most countries and bodies disapprove of Trump's action, Czech republic supports Trump as the country recognizes Jerusalem as the capital of Isreal.
