When two security outfits attack each other openly then there is trouble but one was averted in this case.
What would have been a bloody clash was averted at a branch of Nigerian commercial bank, United Bank for Africa (UBA) in Gusau, Sokoto, yesterday where a soldier reportedly slapped a policeman attached to the bank.
The scenario went as far as leading to gun shots making most of the bank's customers on queue and passers bye scamper to safety.
According to one of the eyewitnesses, the incident occurred beside the bank’s Automated Teller Machine (ATM) when the soldier tried to jump over the queue, during the process some customers complained to security agents attached to the bank for intervention.
He said: “On coming to find out what was going on, the soldier slapped the policeman who immediately alerted his colleagues."
The eyewitness said within minutes, the area was tensed and gun shots rented the air which dispersed everyone.
After the shots had died down a sizeable number of policemen appeared at the scene and some military men including three military officers and a military policeman arrived the scene with vehicles to douse the tension and there after took the soldier away.
