- Fayose advises Buhari to step down says he is getting old
Today is the Birthday of Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari.
The likes of former President Goodluck Jonathan, Speaker Yakubu Dogara of the House of Representatives and Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State among others paid their tributes to President Muhammadu Buhari who clocked 75.
Mr. Ebele said the Nigeria Pres. Is a statesman who has a rare experience having led Nigeria at different times as this has earned him a special place in history.
Jonathan said; “Your Excellency, you are a statesman whose place in history as Nigeria’s leader, at different epochs in our nation’s development journey, is guaranteed."
In the same vein, Gov. Ayodele Fayose, who is a popular critics of Pres. Buhari Government also took time to congratulate the president but he added a post out of place as he advised the President to quit the stage when the ovation is loudest.
Fayose via his spokesperson, Mr Idowu Adelusi, in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State capital said Buhari had served the nation as far as his could allow him. Fayose said Buhari was getting too old and Nigeria doesn't need an old man.
He said; “He shouldn’t contest and the decision is his and his party. But that is not going to stop me and my party from taking over from him and his party come 2019,”
However, House of Rep. Member, Yakubu Dogara, in his statement, applauded Buhari for his stance to achieving full economic recovery and growth for the country.
Others who congratulated the President include the ruling party, All Progressives Congress, APC, and the National Chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun.
