Police foil robbery attack in Ogun State dangote cement factory


A seven-man robbery squad that raged Dangote Cement factory in Ibeshe zone of Ogun State in the early hours of yesterday, faced some policemen who remained in their way in a firearm duel.

Be that as it may, two of them were shot dead toward the finish of the cross discharge said to have gone on for 45 minutes.

Information accumulated revealed that six individuals from the robbery gang, who were armed with perilous weapons including firearms, scaled the fence, leaving the seventh member inside their operational vehicle.

While in the premises, four of them headed towards the material segment to evacuate the protected links, while two others situated themselves deliberately to avert intruders.

The company’s private guards alerted policemen who were drafted to the company.

On sighting the policemen, the two armed   members opened fire on them.

Representative for the Ogun State Police order, Abimbola Oyeyemi, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, who affirmed the incident,said that the policemen reacted accordingly to the attack.

Oyeyemi said At the end of the gun duel one of the thieves was shot dead while another was captured with serious shot injuries however kicked the bucket while in the bus to the clinic.

Other member from the squad got away with different degrees of firearm shot wounds.
