- Management of LAUTECH Teaching Hospital sacks 255 workers and redeploys 299 workers to state service
The rate at which people are beginning to lose their jobs is quite alarming.
According to latest information, not less than two hundred and fifty-five (255) workers of Ladoka Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Teaching Hospital, Ogbomosho, have been sacked by the management of the institution.
The Teaching Hospital is jointly own by Osun and Oyo state.
The sack was confirmed via an internal memorandum signed by one A.M Ajiferuke, dated 27th December, 2017 which revealed the disengagement of workers.
The memo also came with a list which revealed that aside those sacked, 299 other workers of the hospital are henceforth redeployed to the state service, bringing the total of affected workers to 554.
Some of part of the memo read; “Kindly find below the list of disengaged staff as directed by the Oyo State Government and approved by the board at her meeting held on Thursday, 21st December, 2017.”
However, with the look of things, labour unions are not ready to let sleeping dog lie as It was gathered that various unions are getting ready for war against the owners, states government.
The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of LAUTECH, Mr. Akin Fadeyi when asked to speak on the matter said he was not authorised to speak on behalf of LAUTECH Teaching Hospital which is different from LAUTECH.
According to Fadeyi, “You see, LAUTECH differs from LAUTCH teaching Hospital and I don’t speak for Teaching hospital."
