Champions League: Manchester City, Juventus qualify for quarter-final


Manchester City where defeated 2-1 by Basle on Wednesday night, yet at the same time progressed to the quarter final stage of the Uefa Champion's League Competition.

Guardiola's squad won the first leg in Switzerland 4-0 and take the lead at the Etihad stadium with a strike from Gabriel Jesus.

Meanwhile, Basle equalised back through Mohamed Elyounoussi and Michael Lang to win the second leg game in London.

City advance with a 5-2 aggregate score.

In other UCL matches, Juventus created a fine rebound to beat Tottenham 2-1 at Wembley Stadium and qualify on a 4-3 total score.

Manchester city and juventus join Real Madrid and Liverpool as the four groups who have progressed for the quarter-final of the league.

Real Madrid defeated Paris Saint-Germain on a 5-2 total, with a second leg strike from Christiano Ronaldo and Casemiro.

However, PSG forward have been assured of early return before the 2018 world cup in Russia, after suffering from leg damage in a game against Olympic mersaille.
